What it covers, and what it asks
- Structure: Lifetime, against milling defects and grading errors in the boards.
- Finish: 35 years from the purchase date, for home use, against the finish wearing through, flaking or peeling.
- Finish: With the Model Extreme finish: 40 years for home use and 5 years for light commercial use.
- Moldings: 5 years on the finish of PG moldings, for home use.
To keep it
- First owner only, not transferable, with the invoice as proof of purchase.
- Installed and cared for as PG Flooring's guides say; a board that is installed counts as accepted.
- Cleaned with the products PG Flooring offers or recommends.
- Indoor humidity kept between 37 and 45 percent.
Not covered
- The Heritage, Mystique and Unique look: variation in board height, width and bevel, square end imperfections, checks, cracks, wormholes, burn and heat marks, a porous surface, and finish that may crack or sag around character marks.
- Natural character: knots, mineral streaks, grain and color variation.
- Color change from sunlight, and small seasonal gaps between boards.
- Wear from water, grit, pets, furniture, heels and scratches.
- Finish wear over less than 10 percent of the floor.
- Labor, and other costs that come with a claim.
A claim
Start with the store you bought from. PG Flooring takes claims in writing within 6 months of a defect appearing, with the production sticker from the box.
Samples are free and we will post one out. A measured quote is free too, and someone comes and measures rather than guessing from a drawing.
