Coastal Fog is a hardwood floor made by Mullican, in the Castillian Premier Herringbone 4.92" range. Construction is Engineered European White Oak Hardwood, it is not waterproof. Cutting waste is the flooring lost to cuts at walls, doorways and the ends of rows.
Every real job has some. A rule of thumb:
0% when you are buying floors and the waste was already included.
5% for a professional flooring installer.
7% for a general contractor, or someone handy who does not specialize in floors.
10% for a homeowner or DIY who wants a little room for error.
Either way, we recommend an extra carton or two: for overages, for the unforeseen, and as
attic stock, kept back in case of accidental damage later, since a style may be discontinued
or unavailable by then.
