COREtec Pro Classics is a rigid core vinyl plank with a solid polymer core. Each plank is 7 inches wide, about 48 inches long and 5 mm thick, with a 20 mil wear layer, a UV acrylic finish, a micro bevel edge and cork underlayment already attached.
COREtec makes it for busy homes and light commercial rooms. COREtec calls it waterproof, says it resists swelling, cupping and cracking from water, and markets it as petproof and kidproof.
Oak and hickory looks, each color shown on its own page. The micro bevel keeps the line between planks soft, and at 7 inches wide and about 4 feet long the planks sit at a clean, current scale in most rooms.
Living with it
COREtec Pro Classics clicks together and floats, and COREtec lists it for above, on or below grade, so a finished basement is in range. Sweep it, and damp mop it with a cleaner made for vinyl floors. The cork underlayment comes attached to every plank.
COREtec lists a lifetime residential limited wear warranty for COREtec Pro Classics and a 15-year heavy commercial limited wear warranty. Both come from the maker, not from Powell Flooring. COREtec's written warranty sets the coverage, the limits and how to make a claim.
Yes. COREtec lists it for above, on or below grade and calls it waterproof, so a finished basement is within its range.
Is it a good fit for pets and kids?
COREtec markets it as petproof and kidproof. The rigid core and the 20 mil wear layer are the details to compare for a busy household.
Can it go in a small office or shop?
Yes. COREtec makes it for busy homes and light commercial rooms, and lists a 15-year heavy commercial limited wear warranty.
What comes attached to the planks?
A cork underlayment, on every plank, so it goes down with the floor in one step.
How do I clean it?
Sweep regularly and damp mop with a cleaner made for vinyl floors. Wipe up spills when they happen, even on a floor its maker calls waterproof.
How defined are the plank lines?
Soft. The micro bevel gives a smoother, less defined line between planks than a deeper bevel would, and each 7 by 48 inch plank still reads on its own.
