Design notes

The look is oak-focused, with Harbor Oak, Highlands Oak, Montrose Oak, and Whittier Oak. Each color uses a wood-look visual with realistic wood texture, so the floor reads more like a plank than a flat printed surface. The 9 inch width and 72.05 inch length give rooms a broader, longer board look. Micro bevel edges soften the plank outline and create a smoother, less defined plank-to-plank appearance.

Living with it

Routine care is straightforward: sweep as needed, clean spills promptly, and damp mop using a vinyl cleaner with neutral pH. Skip shine, wax, and polish cleaners. COREtec says the floor is easy to clean. For installation, COREtec Plus XL usually goes in as a floating angle-tap floor, with direct glue as an option for commercial or special uses. It can be installed above grade, on grade, or below grade, including over existing floors.

Questions

Is COREtec Plus XL a good fit for a basement in northern New Jersey?

Yes, it is suitable for below-grade installation. COREtec says the floor is waterproof, and COREtec describes the thicker WPC build with attached cork as softer, warmer, and quieter underfoot.

Can it go in kitchens and bathrooms?

Yes. COREtec Plus XL is a waterproof vinyl plank, so kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, and mudrooms are natural places to consider it. Routine care is sweeping, prompt spill cleanup, and damp mopping with a pH-neutral vinyl cleaner.

How does the wide plank affect the look?

The planks are 9 inches wide and a little over 72 inches long, so they give the floor a broader board look. Micro bevel edges make the plank outline smoother and less pronounced.

Is it okay for homes with dogs?

COREtec says COREtec Plus XL is petproof, kidproof, and stain resistant. It also has a 20 mil wear layer and UV acrylic finish, which suit a household that needs a practical resilient plank.

Does it have padding attached?

Yes. COREtec Plus XL includes attached cork underlayment. COREtec says the cork layer helps block noise and reduce cold transfer, which can matter in basements, condos, and family rooms.

How is COREtec Plus XL installed?

It is usually installed as a floating angle-tap floor. Direct glue is also available as an option for commercial or special uses. COREtec Plus XL can be installed above, on, or below grade, and over existing floors.
