About COREtec Originals Enhanced

COREtec Originals Enhanced is a WPC luxury vinyl plank floor with a 12 mm build, 7-inch width, and 60-inch length. It has a 20 mil wear layer, a UV acrylic finish, and cork underlayment attached to each plank. Enhanced painted bevels give the individual planks more definition.

This is a wood-look vinyl floor rather than hardwood. COREtec describes it as waterproof and says the cork backing helps reduce noise and adds thermal insulation. The oak and pecan looks offer different colors and textures, with defined edges that emphasize the plank layout.

Design notes

The 7-inch-wide, 60-inch-long planks pair wood-look textures with enhanced painted bevels for clear plank definition. The 8 colors are Farington Oak, Ferndown Oak, Hartley Pecan, Kingston Oak, Linford Oak, Penhurst Oak, Southmere Oak, and Wilson Pecan. The oak and pecan looks give you different grain and texture choices, while the painted edges keep the individual plank shapes visible across the floor.

Living with it

The floor is usually installed as a floating click floor. Direct glue is also an option for commercial or special-use installations. It is suitable above grade, at ground level, and below grade, so its installation range includes upstairs rooms and basements.

Routine care means sweeping, cleaning up spills promptly, and damp mopping with a pH-neutral vinyl cleaner. COREtec says the UV acrylic finish does not need sanding, sealing, or refinishing. COREtec also describes the floor as waterproof, but prompt spill cleanup remains part of its routine care.

From COREtec:

The warranty, in plain terms

COREtec backs this line with a lifetime residential limited wear warranty and a 10-year medium commercial limited warranty. The residential warranty concerns wear; the commercial warranty applies to medium commercial use. These are limited warranties, and COREtec's warranty document governs the coverage, conditions, and exclusions that apply.

Questions

What are the plank dimensions and thickness?

COREtec Originals Enhanced has planks that are 7 inches wide and 60 inches long, with a 12 mm build, approximately 0.472 inch thick. The construction includes attached cork underlayment and a 20 mil wear layer.

Can this floor go in a basement?

Yes. COREtec Originals Enhanced is suitable for below-grade installation, as well as ground-level and upstairs rooms. It is usually installed as a floating click floor, with direct glue available as an option for commercial or special uses.

Is it waterproof, and how should spills be handled?

COREtec describes this floor as waterproof and says its construction resists swelling, cupping, or cracking from water. Routine care still calls for prompt spill cleanup, along with sweeping and damp mopping with a pH-neutral vinyl cleaner.

Does it need to be sanded or refinished?

No. COREtec says the UV acrylic finish does not need sanding, sealing, or refinishing. For routine care, sweep away loose dirt, clean up spills promptly, and damp mop with a pH-neutral vinyl cleaner.

What does the attached cork backing do?

The cork underlayment is already attached to the planks. COREtec says it helps reduce noise and adds thermal insulation. COREtec also describes the thicker WPC construction as softer, warmer, and quieter underfoot.
