## About Apex

Apex is a luxury vinyl plank from Shaw Floors’ Luxury Vinyl Pro Series. It uses a glue-down luxury vinyl construction with a 0.197 inch, 5 mm overall thickness and a 20 mil wear layer. Each plank measures 12 inches wide by 24 inches long, with a micro bevel edge and ScufResist® finish.

Shaw Floors says Apex is made to stand up to everyday wear in busy spaces and built for durability in both commercial and home settings. Shaw Floors also describes the line as dent resistant and easy to clean. It is made in Vietnam.

## Who it suits

- Basements and lower-level living areas
- Home offices and light commercial spaces
- Households that want simple sweeping and spot cleaning

## Design notes

Apex has a broad 12 inch by 24 inch plank format with a micro bevel edge, so each piece has a defined outline. The ScufResist® finish gives the surface its listed finish treatment. Colors include Adobe, Alabaster, Arctic, Canyon, Dove, Fog, Fossil, Iron, Ivory, Linen, Midnight, and Opal, ranging from lighter neutrals to deeper tones.

## Living with it

Routine care is straightforward: sweeping and spot cleaning are listed for this floor, and Shaw Floors says it is designed to be easy to clean. For installation, Apex can be installed as a floating floor, or by direct glue or perimeter glue. It is suitable for above-grade, on-grade, and below-grade spaces, which gives it flexibility for many northern New Jersey rooms.

## The warranty, in plain terms

Shaw Floors backs Apex with a Residential Resilient Lifetime Limited Warranty and a 10 Year Light Commercial Limited Warranty. In plain terms, those warranties apply to residential resilient use and light commercial use. Shaw Floors’ current warranty document controls the coverage, limits, exclusions, and claim details.

## Questions

### Can Apex be used in a basement?

Yes. Apex is suitable for below-grade installation, as well as on-grade and above-grade spaces. That makes it a practical candidate for finished lower levels, family rooms, and other areas common in northern New Jersey homes.

### How is Apex installed?

Apex can be installed as a floating floor, by direct glue, or by perimeter glue. It is a luxury vinyl glue-down construction, with floating also listed as an installation method for this line.

### How does Apex handle busy areas?

Shaw Floors says Apex is made to stand up to everyday wear in busy spaces and is built for durability in both commercial and home settings. It also has a 20 mil wear layer and ScufResist® finish.

### What cleaning does Apex need?

Routine cleaning can be done with sweeping or spot cleaning. Shaw Floors describes Apex as easy to clean, which is helpful in entries, hallways, home offices, and other spaces that see regular foot traffic.

### What does the plank size look like in a room?

Each Apex plank is 12 inches wide and 24 inches long. That larger rectangular format gives the floor a clean, defined layout, and the micro bevel edge helps outline each individual plank.
